YRC
The Youth Red Cross (YRC) unit, Surajmal Saha Mahavidyalaya, Puri works under the ministry of youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. In our college a group movement is organized at the initial stages for students between 18 to 23 years of age.

| To conduct social and health awareness programmes. |
| Awareness on the care of their own health and that of others. |
| To encourage the students to extend their humanitarian services to society. |
| To offer First-Aid training to all the YRC volunteers and develop leadership quality among the students. |
| Rules and regulations |

The YRC unit is working under the rules and regulations of YRC (The ministry of youth Affairs and Sports Government of India) in general. In addition to, the unit is working under the supervision of the Programme Officer(P.O), YRC and the Principal of the college.
At the beginning of the session, applications are invited from the interested students to join in YRC. The institute adopts the policy of first come first service for the selection of volunteers. The programme officer shall select a group of volunteers from among the applicants who will organize Blood Donation Campus, First Aid Training etc. |
